Jerry Collins

Jerry Collins, is an attorney who has practiced law in Cherokee County since 1982 and is a well-respected member of the profession as well as the community.

Jerry has more than 45 years of experience with firearms and has been an avid outdoorsman his whole life. Traveling for many years throughout the United States, Jerry has competed and won awards in state, regional, national and world matches.

In addition to cowboy action shooting / SASS, Jerry has experience in sporting clays and personal defense formats. Jerry is an NRA certified instructor for NRA Basic Pistol – NRA Personal Defense Inside the Home – NRA Personal Defense Outside the Home and is a certified instructor for Concealed Carry Handgun permits.

Sherry Collins

Sherry has shot competitively on a national level for over ten years. She has successfully competed against some of the best and most well known women (and men) shooters in the United States. She has placed in the top 5 in her category of women shooters in the Ladies Duelist category at the six day SASS World Championships in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007. She won First Place at “Mule Camp”, the four day Southeast Regional match, in 2007. She narrowly missed winning First Place outright at “Hell on Wheels”, the High Plains Regional match, in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 2005.

Sherry is an NRA certified instructor for NRA Basic Pistol – NRA Personal Defense Inside the Home – NRA Personal Defense Outside the Home and is a certified instructor for Concealed Carry Handgun permits.

Holding a concealed carry license, Sherry’s handbag has been known to hold a variety of pistols, but she prefer her S&W .38 Special her sons, Josh and Cory, got her for Mother’s Day.

Josh Long

Born and raised here in Western North Carolina, Josh is a 1998 graduate of Murphy High, who has hunted deer, hogs, bear, and turkeys from the time he was a small boy.

Josh has participated in Cowboy Action shooting as well as sporting clays and long range target shooting during the course of his lifetime. By virtue of his shooting experience and ballistic requirements, Josh has, by necessity, re-loaded many of the cartridges he shoots in long range; he is intimately familiar with reloading principles.

Josh has learned various gunsmith skills which he has developed over the years by repairing and modifying numerous guns for friends and relatives and now as our in-store gunsmith. Josh continues to develop his gunsmith skills through continuing training but if he is unable to perform the work needed, he won’t hesitate to tell you and will try and help you find someone who can help.

Cory Long

Born and raised in Murphy, NC; Cory is a 2002 graduate of Murphy High. From a young age, Cory has hunted for most game located in WNC and has hunted and fished all across the United States.

Cory has participated in Cowboy Action Shooting, Sporting Clays, and long range target shooting. Being our resident expert on reloading, Cory is intimately familiar with reloading principles and can help answer most questions about reloading.
